Gateway Babe Ruth winter workout sign-ups are now open. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 19 and space is limited.

The workouts will be on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. starting Jan. 12 for 10 weeks.

Workouts will be held at the Cage in Marion as they were last year.

Also, the 2016 Gateway Babe Ruth season has arrived.

All players ages 12 to 16 from Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester and Wareham are invited to register at this time.

The first 25 players to have paid in full will receive personalized Gateway half gallon water jugs.

New this season, 16 year olds are welcome to play in the league.

If a player is 16 years old on or before May 1 they are also eligible and can try out for the the senior Babe Ruth league.
