New England Rodeo announces additional show in October
ROCHESTER — Following “an amazing season” in Rochester, the New England Rodeo is expanding their schedule into October.
According to Strategic Advisor and Producer Kelly Pina, the final rodeo event will now take place on Saturday, October 4. Originally, the rodeo was scheduled to end on Saturday, Sept. 20.
“It just felt like a short season with us moving and not really getting started until the middle of June,” said Pina. “In previous years, we usually start in the middle of May.”
She adds, “We wanted to be able to keep it going and to plan and have a big finale for the year.”
The schedule expansion required approval from the Select Board, Rochester Police and emergency service teams. Pina notes that the rodeo has not had any safety incidents to record this season.
The finale will feature an extended show with additional rides from the bull riders.
“It’s just a great coming together for our last hurrah before we go into the cold months of New England,” said Pina.
She emphasizes that the rodeo has “never really experienced” this level of support from a community in the past, and “it just feels like we’re home” in Rochester.
The rodeo originally received approval to set up shop on the former Rochester Country-Fair grounds at 65 Pine Street in May.
“We’re hoping to stay in the Rochester area for 2026,” said Pina.
