MARION — In May, Tri-Town residents learned a lot about bear safety when a black bear made his way through South Coast Massachusetts.

Now, join the Marion Natural History Museum for a presentation on black bears in Massachusetts hosted by Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife biologists Steven Wright and Jason Zimmer on Friday, Dec. 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Black bears are found throughout much of state including southeastern Massachusetts. Attendees can learn what to do if you see a bear and what steps to take to protect your home and property. The presentation will also talk about the life history of the black bear and why they're here.

“Let's learn about our bear population so that we can be respectful toward our wild neighbors,” wrote the Marion Natural History Museum in a press release. “We may need to learn to change our behavior, because bears aren’t going to change theirs.”
