Bidding open for two Mattapoisett Construction Projects

Mar 24, 2021

MATTAPOISETT — Two construction bids are currently open in Mattapoisett, according to an update at a March 24 Mattapoisett Selectmen meeting.

Sealed bids for the Mattapoisett River Bridge Replacement Project must be received by the Office of the Board of Selectmen at the Mattapoisett Town Hall at 2 p.m. on April 5. The project, which is being rebid from 2020, seeks to replace the Acushnet Road Bridge as it crosses a branch of the Mattapoisett River.

Selectmen will also be accepting bids for the Mattapoisett Fire Station Traffic Signal Project. Bids must be submitted to the Mattapoisett Town Hall by April 7 at 12 p.m. and will be opened on the Front Lawn and streamed via Zoom at 2 p.m.

“We’re hoping for low bids,” Town Administrator Michael Lorenco said. “As you know, the recent bids that we’ve gotten for industrial Drive and some of the other projects in town have been very favorable, so hopefully that continues.”

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a bid bond, cash or certified check for 5% of the bid price, Lorenco said.

Further information on both bids is listed on the town website, www.mattapoisett.net/home/news/mattapoisett-bid-openings-announced-acush.... Interested parties can also call the Board of Selectmen Office for more information.
