Jan 4, 2013

The Sippican Historical Society Museum has recently unveiled its special exhibit on Bird Island.

The exhibit documents the changes that have taken place over time on the Island, which sits prominently at the entrance to Sippican Harbor. The lighthouse itself was built in 1819 and closed in 1933.

The public is welcome to view the special exhibit, as well as the Society’s permanent collections, during the Museum’s normal operating hours: Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.  For more information, call 508-748-1116.
