Blizzard lands on the South Coast

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8.
Snow, heavy at times, will fall throughout the day Monday with 8 to 12 inches of accumulation possible. Wind will come from the northeast and is forecast at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
Heavy, wet snow and strong winds may result in downed tree limbs and possible power outages, the National Weather Service cautioned. The heaviest snowfall is forecast to occur in the afternoon creating white-out conditions at times. The snow is expected to diminish between 4 and 7 p.m.
All tri-town schools are closed as well as the town halls and town house.
Trash pickup has been delayed one day.
