Board, new Town Administrator, close to signing contract

Jul 8, 2014

Selectmen and incoming Town Administrator Michael McCue are close to agreeing on contract terms.

On Monday, Town Counsel Blair Bailey said the contract is now in McCune’s hands and he can either sign or ask for changes. Bailey said he would not reveal what McCune was offered for a salary until the contract was signed.

In a 2-0 vote, board members hired McCue at their June 16 meeting. McCue has served as Avon's Town Administrator since 2007.

This is the second time in as many weeks that Selectmen met without a Town Administrator. Former Town Administrator Rich LaCamera is on vacation. On May 30, LaCamera signed a contract with board members, which lets him serve as interim Town Administrator until July 31.
