Book clubs, weaving among April activities at Mattapoisett library

MATTAPOISETT — Mattapoisett Free Public Library hosts several programs for adults and teens this April.

The Cookbook Club meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 to discuss “Lidia's a Pot, a Pan, and a Bowl: Simple Recipes for Perfect Meals: A Cookbook’’ by Lidia Bastianich. Copies of the cookbook are available for check out at the library. The group meets in-person and a virtual option is available.

Artist Charles Stockbridge returns for a second demonstration of “How to Paint a Monet” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. This demonstration is available at the library with limited space and via Zoom. Registration is required for participating, whether in person or virtually.

The Sunday Book Club discusses “The Woman They Could Not Silence: One Woman, Her Incredible Fight for Freedom, and the Men Who Tried to Make Her Disappear’’ by Kate Moore at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24. New members are always welcome. Copies are available for check out at the library. The group meets in-person and a virtual option is available. 

Well-Read Wednesday, a nonfiction book discussion group, will talk about Michael J. Moore’s title, “We Are All Whalers’’ at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. A limited number of copies are available for readers to keep at the library. New members are welcome to join the group; the group meets in-person and a virtual option is available.

Weaver Lisa Elliott will do an in-person demonstration of her craft on a portable loom at the library from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28.
