Mar 13, 2014
Are books dead? Are libraries obsolete? Dr. Robert Darnton will address these questions, and discuss his theories about what should become of libraries and books in the future at the Marion Music Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28.
A part-time Marion resident, Dr. Darnton is director of the University Library at Harvard. In addition, he is the recipient of the National Humanities Medal conferred by President Obama in 2012.
Co-sponsored by the Sippican Historical Society and the Elizabeth Taber Library, the lecture is offered free to the public. No registration is required. Parking is available across from the Music Hall at Island Wharf Park. For more information, call 509-748-1116.
