Bulldogs, Cougars crush competitors in first playoff games
The varsity football teams from Old Rochester Regional High School and Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School will move on to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association round of 8 in their respective divisions after each taking home a win on Friday, Nov. 3.
Sixth seed Old Rochester beat 11th seed North Middlesex 28-14 sending them to the MIAA Div. 3 round of eight against third seeded Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in an away game on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.
Shawsheen is 7-0 this season, but after a strong game against North Middlesex, 4-4 Old Rochester is gearing up for a fight.
In Rochester, sixth seed Old Colony handily won 28-6 against 11th seed Narragansett Regional High School, which sends them to the MIAA Div. 8 round of eight where they will face third seed Hoosac Valley in an away game on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m.
Old Colony is 7-1 this season and just won their conference championship on Friday, Oct. 27.
