Car break-ins under investigation in Marion

Sep 1, 2014

Marion police are asking for the public's help following a rash of car break-ins.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16 the department received three separate reports of motor vehicle break-ins. All of them took place at night. In each incident, the passenger side window was smashed in order to enter the car.

The breaks occurred on Ichabod Lane, Front Street and Holmes Street. All vehicles were parked in driveways. In two of the breaks, cash was taken from a wallet and a purse that were left inside the vehicles. The vehicle involved in the third had been gone through, but it doesn’t appear anything was taken.

Police remind residents to not leave valuables inside their cars. Any item of value should be taken inside the home and the vehicle should be locked.

Anyone with information regarding these breaks is asked to contact the Marion Police Department at 508-748-1212.
