Celebrate Arbor Day by picking up a free spruce tree at Bask

Apr 26, 2021

Mattapoisett residents Chapman Dickerson and Tim Keogh will be giving away 1,000 free trees through their Fairhaven cannabis dispensary Bask to celebrate Arbor Day.

Tri-Town residents are invited to come to the Bask dispensary at 2 Pequod Rd. in Fairhaven on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“This will be our fourth ‘Free Trees’ event since opening Bask in 2018 and will be our biggest yet,” said Dickerson, Bask’s CEO. “Our goal is to give away 1,000 blue spruce tree seedlings this
year and we welcome everyone in the community to take one home to plant.”

Tree seedlings will be available in the parking lot outside the company’s Fairhaven dispensary for contactless pickup.

There is no purchase necessary.

“As a company, we are committed to sustainable practices and reducing our carbon footprint is important,” Dickerson explained. “Getting 1,000 trees in the ground is a great benefit to the environment and a fun way to get the community engaged in the process.”

The seedlings are purchased from the Massachusetts Tree Wardens Association, with proceeds going to the association’s annual scholarship fund.
