Christine E. Florindo, “Tina” 75

Christine E. Florindo, “Tina” 75, passed suddenly March 25 at Tobey Hospital, Wareham. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Paul and Elizabeth (Bowen) Florindo, born on December 25, 1943.

She grew up in Wareham before moving to Rochester in 1990. Tina graduated from the Boston School for the Deaf, Randolph in 1961.

Tina was an active and proud member of the Rochester Grange for many years. She always looked forward to attending the Grange meetings and especially enjoyed the summer Grange Fair, where she was able to show off her talent with her original hook rug creations and her prize Gladiolus. She also loved gardening and attending 4H horse shows.

Tina spent many years volunteering at the Rochester Senior Center and looked forward to the yearly trip to the Big E: New England’s Great State Fair. You would always see Tina wearing a hat; she especially loved her cowboy hats and had one for every occasion.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Melissa Bessey and her husband Edward; two nieces, Melissa Weigel and her husband Greg, Kelly Bertrand and her husband Rick; her great
nephews and nieces, Angela, Joseph and Owen Weigel; Daniel and Leah-Beth Bertrand all of Rochester. She was predeceased by her nephew, Paul Bessey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 in Rochester Center Cemetery, Dexter Lane, Rochester.
