The tenth annual Greater Wareham Walk for Hunger will take place on Sunday, May 5, at 1 p.m., with registration from noon to 12:45 p.m.

The Community Baptist Church in Marion, and the Marion Congregational Church are helping to organize the walk, with St. Patrick’s Church, Onset Foursquare Church, Wesley United Methodist Church.

The walk raises money for Project Bread, a non-profit that works to alleviate, prevent, and end hunger in Massachusetts. More than 700,000 people in Massachusetts can not confidently predict where there next meal will come from. Project Bread supports more than 400 soup kitchens, food pantries, and food banks across Massachusetts, including three in Wareham.

About 90 people participated in the walk last year and raised roughly $10,000. The five mile course begins and ends at the Church of the Good Shepherd. For more information, including sponsor sheets, go to www.goodshepherdwareham.org.
