The Sippican Historical Society and Marion Council on Aging present “The Paper Chase” as part of the Classic Film Series program. The movie will be aired at Marion Music Hall on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.

The film features a clash between a dictatorial Harvard law professor and a first-year law student. The student is a hardworking farm boy from Minnesota in a world of prep school classmates from Ivy League undergraduate schools. While some students break under the professor’s expectations, this student moves to the head of the class. The student also falls in love with a woman who happens to be the professor’s daughter.

John Houseman, who plays the professor, received an Academy Award for his performance.
