Holiday Story Time to Celebrate Family Literacy Month

A special story time will be held to celebrate holiday traditions on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to read holiday books, listen to stories, and enjoy a sharing of traditions that make holidays such a special family time. Cider and gingerbread cookies will be served. Each person will be invited to create a paper quilt square to be joined in one large quilt to be hung in the library through the New Year. Bring grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins to celebrate family to begin the holiday season.

Teacher Open House

Area teachers are invited to an open house on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9:30 to 11 a.m at the Mattapoisett Library. Staff from area libraries will be on hand to talk ways the library can support teachers and students toward a more successful school year. Learn about how local libraries can provide reference services, homework help, book availability, technology services, and other resources. Continental breakfast will be available for teachers and their families.

Friends' Used Book Sale

Gently used books for children and adults will be for sale in the downstairs meeting room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 to benefit the Friends of the Mattapoisett Library. Hundreds of wonderful books and tapes have been donated.

Deconstructing Cravings

Get your cravings under control without deprivation, dieting or denial. Learn how your body works and take control of your health, moods, and energy levels. Holistic Health CoachJohanna Voss will present a free workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m on managing food habits, just in time for the holidays. Everyone is welcome to attend.

E-catalog is Now Online

The electronic catalog for the SAILS Library Network is now up and running with a new, more user-friendly look and feel. Log in with your SAILS library card and access millions of titles in a variety of formats. Stop by the library and speak with the staff if you would like help navigating the website www.sailsinc.org.

Flu Clinc for Children

Amanda Stone, R.N., will hold a flu clinic for children six months of age and older at the library on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. For more information call 508-758- 4118.
