Community comes out for Back to School Bash

Sep 15, 2018

MATTAPOISETT — Families from the tri-town spent Saturday evening at Old Rochester High School, as the AmbassadOR Club hosted its first Back to School Bash.

The club, a student group focusing on community outreach, decided to organize the bash, after witnessing the success of its father-daughter dance last winter.

“That was amazing,” AmbassadOR member Abby Horan said of the dance. “And there aren’t a lot of community events in the fall. We wanted to do something to bring everyone together.”

The bash featured face painting, henna tattoos, a bake sale, lawn games, a bouncy house, a dunk tank and more. Each activity cost a certain amount of tickets, which had to be purchased. All money raised went back to the AmbassadOR Club to use to pay for future programs.
