The Rochester Historical Society and Rochester Land Trust are co-sponsoring a photography contest for the Country Fair in August. The contest is open to all, but photos must be taken in the town and titled “Fields, Forests or Bogs of Rochester.”

Entries are limited to one photo per person. Photos should be 5x7 inches in size. Color and  black and white photos are both acceptable. Contestants should write their name, address, phone number, age bracket (youth for 18 and under, and adult for 19 and over) and location where the picture was taken, on the back of the photograph. Submissions may not be photo shopped, matted, or framed for this contest.

All photographs must be received by Thursday, Aug.1. The historical society and land trust will display the submitted photos at their booths at the Rochester Country Fair at 65 Pine Street. Fair attendees will vote on the best photograph, with voting ending at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 11.

Winners in both youth and adult brackets will win cash prizes of $75 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third.

Photos will remain the property of the co-sponsoring organizations after the contest is over.
