From cookies to camping

MARION — Selling Girl Scout cookies has sweet payoffs, literally and figuratively, as Girl Scout troop 67047 used profits from its cookie sales to fund an overnight camping experience.

The troop visited Camp Wind-in-the-Pines in Plymouth on April 19 and 20, where it participated in an overnight trip that included a hike to the frog pond in rain boots.

The girls returned to the warm lodge to make s’mores, s’macos (s’mores tacos), s’moreo’s (s’mores with oreos), and ice cream cones stuffed with s’mores goodies in an the indoor fireplace.

They explored the Environmental Discovery Center at the camp, had a pajama fashion show, stayed up way past their bedtimes, and “rescued” inchworms they found inside to gently relocate outside.
