David Hughes requests recount for Park Commission position

Jun 4, 2025

ROCHESTER — David Hughes, who ran for reelection to the Rochester Park Commission in the Rochester Town Election, submitted paperwork for a recount on Monday, June 2.

Hughes, who had 10 days after the election to submit the paperwork, said he wanted a recount because of how close the vote count was and that there were 30 blank votes.

While results are still unofficial, Hughes reportedly received 470 votes to opponent Nate Reece’s 480 on election night.

The recount will take place on Thursday, June 12  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rochester Council on Aging.

Election results will be certified after the recount.
