Deadline approaching for tri-town Cultural Council applications

Oct 7, 2019

The deadline to submit applications to the cultural councils in all three towns will be Oct. 15.

Organizations, schools, and individuals can apply online for grants that support cultural activities and proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs in the community.

The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

This year, Mattapoisett Cultural Council will distribute about $9,800 in grants. Mattapoisett Cultural Council’s available funding is enhanced by the Board of Selectmen’s support for and annual town meeting approval of municipal funding for local cultural endeavors.

Rochester funds are also available for other tri-town organizations. Final Rochester awards will be announced in December.
