MATTAPOISETT — The Select Board delayed a decision on a proposed mobile bar at Walrus and Captain on June 29.

The bar would roll out on wheels into the restaurant’s outdoor patio area to provide outdoor seating, according to the Select Board.

“I know they like to have their entertainment outside,” Select Board member Jordan Collyer said. “What I don’t want to see is a standing room only with a bar outside.”

He added concerns about how the bar would affect parking, and whether seating around the bar would be fixed or malleable.

“I do have reservations about opening up just so you can have the bar out there,” Collyer said.

With no one from the restaurant to field questions present, the Board decided to postpone discussion to its next meeting.
