MATTAPOISETT — The town Dog Walk A Thon will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to noon at Center School on Barstow Street. 

The stroll is a half mile or mile long and can be completed at the walkers’ leisure. The route is walked and water stations are provided for participants. Walkers should donate $20, which will go to the building of a new dog park. 

There will also be contests and prizes for pooches, and 2019 calendars and t-shirts available.
