Dungeons and Dragons and college prep for Mattapoisett library teens

Sep 10, 2022

MATTAPOISETT – For teens visiting the Mattapoisett library, there will be a wide array of youth programs, bringing brand new programs and bringing back popular ones from previous years.

Craft Tuesdays return weekly on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. where visitors will create popsicle stick pencils. The following week, the library will celebrate Climate Preparedness week by creating Temperature Map Bookmarks. No registration required. This is recommended for ages 10 and up.

On Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m., join the library for the rescheduled Upcycled Wind Chimes event. Visitors will be creating wind chimes out of everyday objects you can find around their home. No registration required. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Due to the use of small pieces and tools, this program is not recommended for small children.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m., I’MIN! will be sharing their presentation, Top 10 Family Tips for Surviving the College Search Process. Parents and high school students are invited to attend together and get the inside scoop on taking the stress out of the college search and application process. The co-creators of I’MIN!, Christine and Julia Winters, will be joined by Kathleen Dunn, an ORR Senior, to share best practices and organizational tools that enhance family communication and help pave the way for a smoother search, application and decision making process. No registration required.

Coming this October, Dungeons and Dragons will return. A new adventure begins and the library would love for anyone interested to be part of it. The first session is on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. New players are always welcome. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Registration required.
