The Easter Bunny hops to Rochester for breakfast

ROCHESTER — Children had the chance to say an early “hi” to the Easter bunny and win prizes and the Lions Club raised funds for community outreach at their annual Breakfast with the Bunny event April 7.

The event took place at the Rochester Senior Center, and gave families their pick of breakfast from a menu. Cyd Ryle, who cooks for a number of Senior Center events, served as the main cook.

Outside the kitchen the youngsters greeted the Easter Bunny with hugs, smiles, waves, and the occasional eye poke.

Event organizer, Deb Grassi, said that all of the profits go back to the community to help fund things like the library summer program.

She said the event is a popular after church stop for families, noting the Lion’s Club used to hold it on Palm Sunday, just before Easter, but is better attended earlier in April.
