Event filled Rochester Country Fair closes

With a spell of perfect weather, the Rochester Country Fair capped its four-day run on Sunday.
Families came from near and (relatively) far for the 14th annual fair, held on Pine Street. Popular draws like the Woodsman Competition filled the stands with spectators on the fair's final day. Wood chips and sawdust flew as competitors sawed, chopped, and muscled their way through timed events.
At the tractor pulls, dust filled the air as the machines strained against the weight. At the other end of the fair grounds, kids got in on the action too. New this year, children competed in the "peddle tractor pull," which took place on a cement slab built specially for the event.
The day before featured a pie eating contest and goat show. A variety of livestock, including cows, alpacas, sheep, and more attracted a steady stream of families throughout the fair's run.
