Events at Marion's 'mini' senior center
The new mini senior center is held on Mondays at the Music Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 18.
Nursing Consultations are held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., chair yoga from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m., a social hour followed by lunch from 11:45 a.m. 12:30 p.m. (free will donation), and then a learning and lecture series.
The January series begins on Jan. 11with “Norman Rockwell Remembered”, offering a way to experience a selection of images by Rockwell and to hear the stories behind his choices. On Jan. 25, the lecture is titled “Organizing You and Your Life,” which will help participants find solutions for managing their stuff.
The free monthly movies at the Music Hall will also resume in January. The event is sponsored by the Sippican Historical Society and the Marion Council on Aging and has a discussion session after the movie. The following films will be shown: Jan. 8 “High Noon,” Feb. 12 “Some Like it Hot,” March 11 “Cool Hand Luke” and April 8 “A Man for All Seasons.”
