Apr 29, 2019

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library will host a variety of events and lectures in May, including art events, non-traditional yoga and book groups.

On the first of the month, the library will host a discussion of the One Book, Tri-Town bookclub book, “The Muralist,” by B.A. Shapiro.

On May 7 at 6:30 p.m. the library will hold an author talk by Marion author Donna Lee Tufts, who will discuss her book, “Lola, My Girl,” about her dog’s journey to Marion from St. Thomas.

The library’s ArtMonth may be over, but it continues to explore art with a lecture by Jill Sanford  called “The Abstract Expressionists — What were they thinking?” The lecture will take place on May 15 at 5 p.m.

New Bedford’s Art Mobile will visit the Elizabeth Taber Library on May 18, bringing art educators and providing a variety of art supplies to library patrons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The next day, tri-town residents can see the author of “The Muralist” speak and get a book signed at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library at 2 p.m.

On May 22, Marion resident Doug Savage will lead a laughter yoga class at 6 p.m. to encourage library patrons to laugh more.
