Explore the coast with the Marion Natural History Museum

The Marion Natural History Museum’s summer programs start July 8.  The programs are designed for small groups. Registration is limited to 15 children per session.

Programs are held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The first session is scheduled for July 8 – 19. The second runs Aug. 5 - 16.

Children entering first and second grade may attend “Life Along the Shore.” In this program, plants and animals along the shore are explored. Games, journals and basic science techniques are used to introduce children to the coast.

The program “Coastal Explorations I” is designed for children entering the third and fourth grades. Rocky inter-tidal shorelines, salt marshes, swamps, bogs, and more will be explored.

“Coast Explorations II” is for children entering the fifth, sixth, or seventh grade.
