Fairhaven Selectmen delay decision on new town administrator
Rochester officials should know by Monday whether or not Town Administrator Mike McCue will leave town for a new position in Fairhaven.
On Tuesday night, Fairhaven Selectmen said more time was needed to research three finalists seeking to become Fairhaven’s first town administrator.
Along with McCue, the finalists include Whitman Assistant Town Manager Gregory Enos and Portland, Maine City Manager Mark Rees.
According to Chair Geoff Haworth, the board will fill the position at a meeting scheduled for Monday at noon.
On Dec. 5, the finalists were interviewed by Selectmen during three, separate 90-minute sessions.
Mike McCue said his experience with business development would make him highly qualified for Fairhaven’s top municipal job.
McCue, who lives in Mansfield with his wife and children, was hired as Rochester’s town administrator in June 2014 and started full time on Aug. 1, 2014.
