February events at the Mattapoisett Library

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Free Public Library has young adult programs to fall in love with this February.

Craft Tuesday continues this month. Join the library for a different simple craft each week. No registration required. Recommended for ages 10 and up. 

The library’s Dungeons and Dragons campaign comes to an end this month, don’t miss the exciting ending to the campaign. Dungeons and Dragons will meet on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up. Registration is required. New players are always welcome.

On Thursday, Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m., the library will host The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project to teach participants how to create a lotus lantern. This is a simple craft, fun for all ages. Younger patrons are welcome to participate with an adult's help. Register for this event on online.

The Teen Advisory Board meets the second Tuesday of the month and will be meeting this month on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. Join the board to discuss expanding the “Library of Things,” video games, and brainstorming ways to entice new members. Snacks will be provided. New members are always welcome.

The Game Lounge continues on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All are welcome to play Nintendo Switch on the big screen as well as an assortment of board games. Bring your games or use those provided by the library. Snacks will be provided. This is a family friendly event. No registration is required. 

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m., join the library for Weird and Wonderful Watercolors. Create  watercolor paintings using surprising materials: water based markers, sharpies, artists' bristol paper, and white crayons. Participants will be able to explore the art form and can create up to three unique watercolor paintings. As a bonus, the library will have a group acrylic painting setup that everyone can collaborate on. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Registration is required. Program funded by the Richard and Ann J. Prouty Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
