MARION — Explore the wet and lively woods and ponds at SLT’s White Eagle property while looking for signs of early spring, and frogs!

Join Sippican Lands Trust and FrogWatch USA volunteer, Lorene Sweeney, as we look for amphibian signs of spring at Sippican Lands Trust’s White Eagle property on Sunday, March 31 starting at 1 p.m.

While frog activity is weather- and temperature-dependent, we hope to see and hear spring peepers and maybe wood frogs in their spring breeding season.

Lorene Sweeney will share her experiences with the citizen science program “FrogWatch USA.” For more information about the program visit www.bpzoo.org/whats-new/event/frogwatch-2/.

The Sunday walk should be a mile or so over flat terrain. There will be considerable portions of the walk that have wet areas and muddy stretches, so boots are recommended.

The White Eagle Property is located off of Route 6 in Marion. Take Parlowtown Road across from the town cemetery and follow road until you reach the cul-de-sac.

The walk is free, and no registration is required. If the walk is canceled due to inclement weather, then information will be posted to Sippican Lands Trust’s website and Facebook page.
