MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club will be having an “unusually exciting presentation” during its monthly luncheon meeting.

On Thursday, March 14 at 11 a.m. in Mattapoisett Congregational Church’s Reynard Hall, Mattapoisett Fire Chief Andrew Murray will join as featured speaker.

Program co-chair Eileen Marum said Murray is “a prime example of what it means to be a firefighter,” according to a Mattapoisett Woman’s Club press release.

“Do you know what it takes to be a firefighter?” Marum said, “It takes courage, dedication, and a willingness to help those in need.”

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. Preceding that is an 11 a.m. social hour, during which there will be a book exchange. Members and guests can bring up to three books — including children’s books and any genre — that they would like to share with someone else to read and then take a “new to them” book from among the pile for themselves.

A brief business meeting, followed by announcements and adjournment at around 1:30 p.m., will be held after the luncheon.
