Fire Department Open House lights up the night
Oct 10, 2014
Kids learned all about fire safety at the Mattapoisett Fire Department's annual Open House on Thursday night.
Firefighters let kids climb on their trucks, helped them through a simulated house fire and showed them the jaws of life.
For the main demonstration, firefighters lit a wooden building outfitted with furniture to show how quickly a fire can consume a house.
The evening also featured free food provided by local restaurants and served by the Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary as well as a poster contest for kids.
