'Fizz Boom Read' at the Taber Library

Jun 16, 2014

The Elizabeth Taber Library has a number of programs scheduled to kickoff summer reading. See below for events and other activities the library has planned for June and July. All events are free. For more information, call 508-748-1252 or visit www.elizabethtaberlibrary.org.

‘Fizz Boom Read’ program

The annual summer reading program at library will begin when school ends. The theme for this year is “Fizz Boom Read!”

This is a free, family-oriented program, and includes children from ages 2 to 12 years old and their parents. The goal of this program is to encourage families to read for pleasure and keep track of their reading.

Weekly check-ins with the library earn kids free books and a surprise.

Random drawings occur all summer for all age groups that are logging their hours. All kids that read at least ten hours will be awarded a special prize at the end of the program. The program begins Monday, June 23 and ends Friday Aug. 1.

Mike the ‘Bubble Man’

Mike the Bubble Man will perform Monday, June 23 at 2 p.m. in the Marion Music Hall. The Bubble Man brings magic and science to the stage with this interactive 45-minute indoor show about bubbles! This performance is made possible in part by the Marion Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
