Former Mattapoisett resident to open cafe on Main Street in Wareham
WAREHAM — Katie Gallagher, a former Mattapoisett resident who recently moved to Wareham, is now one step closer to opening a new coffee shop on Main Street in Wareham.
Gallagher’s business, which will be called The Bluefoot Cafe, is located near the corner of Main Street and Route 6 — roughly between Lucky Goat Brewery and Gateway Motors.
“I want to open a coffee shop that has healthy options, like smoothies and acai bowls and avocado toast,” Gallagher said.
Her hope would be to offer “healthier food and a nice atmosphere for the community,” she said.
During a Dec. 14 meeting, the Select Board unanimously approved Gallagher’s request for a license to serve food at her 379 Main St. location.
“Thank you for choosing to do business in Wareham,” said Select Board Chair Judith Whiteside. “Good luck.”
