The Mattapoisett Fourth of July Road Race Committee, chaired by Bill Tilden, Old Rochester Regional High School athletic director, has announced the award winners for 2014.

Throughout the history of the race, the committee has given more than $200,000 in proceeds from the event as awards to tri-town high school seniors who have been involved in running.

This year a record $19,000 was dispersed to the following award recipients:

From Marion Zachary Tilden, Gabrielle Gleiman, Samantha Barrett, Kaitlyn Sethares and Evan Augustine received awards. In Mattapoisett, awards went to Abigail Adams, Colin Knapton, Robert Magee and Hannah Vieira. Rochester runners Morgan Dasilva, Michael Wyman and Paige Santos also received awards.
