Frances Louise (Hiller) Healey, 82
Frances Louise (Hiller) Healey, 82, of San Rafael, CA died at home Sunday, September 27 in the care of hospice and her husband Michael.
Fran was born April 7, 1944 at Mass. General in Boston, third daughter of Eldredge and Margaret (Crane) Hiller, and raised in Marion until the family moved to Scarsdale, New York when she was ten. She returned to the family home every summer to Marion to sail, ride horses, play tennis, and bike and swim.
Her first job after graduating from Skidmore College where she majored in art was with the art department at Raytheon in Burlington, MA where she met her husband Michael. They were married February 8, 1969 in Sudbury, MA and soon moved west to the Bay Area.
After buying a house in Bolinas Franny worked for the Bolinas Community Public Utility District and began “en plein air” painting with the West Marin Diehards in her spare time. Eventually they moved to San Rafael where she worked for the University of California Cooperative Extension. She continued painting until recently, mostly California landscapes.
She is survived by her sister Betsey Tabraham (Harry, deceased), Peggy Forster (Jim), and Helen Hills (Norm), her nephews Ralph Phillips and Nate Hills, niece Sarah Hoff and by many close friends.
