With its new and improved location on Pine Street, the Rochester Country Fair kicked off a long weekend of festivities on Thursday.
Kids came with buckets of hopping frogs to the annual Frog Derby. Frogs of the small, medium and large variety each got their chance to race while their owners hooted, hollered and beat the ground to push their amphibious friends to the finish line.
At the same time, a battle of the brawn was taking place on the other side of the fair grounds as members of the Southern New England Truck Pullers Association took their turn dragging a trailer full of cement.
