Gateway Youth Hockey roundup

Gateway Youth Hockey teams scored two wins this past weekend against Hopkinton and the North Devils. For game summaries, see below.

Pee Wees

The Gateway Gladiator Pee Wees defeated the North Devils Sunday night 3-0. Gateway won the game off of goals by Stephen Old, Ben Demoranville and new teammate Sean Pollack. Sean was assisted by RJ Vickery and Emily Roberge. Gateway goal tender, Ryker King, played another strong game to earn a shutout.

Middle School

The Middle School Junior Vikings picked up a win against Hopkinton 7-3, after two weeks off. Hopkinton jumped out to an early lead, scoring on the first shot. The Junior Vikings were a little sluggish in the first period, but Jack Martins got them on the board, with a quick shot, off the feed from Robert Ramsay.

The score after the first period was 2-1 in favor of Hopkinton, but the Gateway team found its legs in the second period, reeling off four unanswered goals. Martins started it, while Quirino doCanto added two and Ramsay chipped in with one.

Richard Vickery put home a loose puck in the third as well as defenseman, Seth Tomasik, beating the goalie with a slap shot. Alex DeMarco earned the win in net for the Junior Vikings, allowing only one goal in his time in net, shared with Jake DeMoranville.
