Gerald Normandin, Jr., 68
Gerald J. Normandin, Jr., 68, of Mattapoisett passed away Feb. 13 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his family by his side.
He was the husband of Margaret C. (Wedge) Normandin with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Gerald J. and Blanche (Maurice) Normandin, he was raised in Dartmouth and lived in Mattapoisett for the last 40 years.
Jerry was formerly employed by the Mattapoisett Highway Department for many years until his retirement.
His greatest passion in life was his family. Jerry’s selfless devotion to his children and grandchildren was evident to all who knew him. Jerry also thoroughly enjoyed annual trips to scenic Ogunquit, Maine with his wife and friends.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald J. Normandin, III and his wife Jennifer of Fairhaven; a daughter, Kim Dwyer and her husband James M. Dwyer, III of Mattapoisett; four grandchildren, James M. Dwyer, IV, Katherine Dwyer, Ella Normandin and Mia Normandin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lucille Mendes.
His memorial service was held Feb. 23 in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
