'Glow purple' in support of the arts
The tri-town is lighting up purple this month in support of the arts.
The movement is called "Glow Purple," explained Anthi Frangiadis. The idea was conceived as part of Marion's upcoming ArtWeek celebrations.
The Marion Art Center's purple door is a well-known sight in Marion Village. Matching it this month are purple lights in local businesses such as Anthi's Drawing Room and Sippican Dental on Spring Street. Kate's Simple Eats will string purple Christmas lights along its window.
Purple lights will also glow in the portico of the Elizabeth Taber Library, and at Marion's Town House.
Residents are invited to join in and add their own purple glow to the art celebration. Lamp and candle-sized lightbulbs are available at Anthi's Drawing Room for those interested, or purple lights and lightbulbs are also available at local retailers and Amazon.
