MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Museum has been awarded a $20,000 capital grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund to continue the work needed on the cupola and the west side of the Carriage House. This work will complete the outside restoration of the building.

The project is expected to get underway this summer,

The museum has also been awarded a $1,500 Bridge Street Sponsorship from Mass Humanities and the Mass Cultural Council which will allow the museum to bring the community additional online programming.

The first program in the lecture series is a talk in June by John Horrigan on Early American Baseball, followed by another presentation in August by Horrigan on the Whaleship Essex, with the final lecture with historian Christopher Daley in October on infamous mass murders.
