Harbormaster wants to 'improve customer service' with small car
Jan 14, 2015
Harbormaster Jill Simmons has added an electric car to her wish list for the department.
A small open car, described as a “step above golf cars,” would be used to provide assistance at Ned’s Point, the Barstow area and other locations along the wharf, such as reaching boaters at the end of a dock more quickly or giving a ride to those with mobility issues so they still have access to the water.
“It would improve customer service a lot,” Simmons told Selectmen on Tuesday.
The car costs around $14,000.
