Hazardous waste collection day May 3

The Carver Marion Wareham Regional Disposal District Commissioners will offer a Household Hazardous Products Collection Day on Saturday, May 3 for the residents of Marion, Carver and Wareham. The time of the collection will be from 9:00 a.m. through noon.

There are two collection sites:

Carver Salt Storage Facility, Rochester Road (off Route 58), South Carver and

Wareham Municipal Maintenance Area, Charge Pond Road (off Route 28), Wareham.

Items that will be accepted include pesticides, household chemicals, oil-based paint, anti-freeze, motor oil, spent gasoline and products containing mercury (thermostats, thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, float switches, etc.). They will also accept empty propane tanks.

The following items will not be accepted: latex-based paints, tires, PCBs, radioactive materials and explosives.
