Hazing charges to be dropped against Marion youth

Dec 19, 2022

Hazing charges will be dropped against Tucker Guard, 20, of Marion upon completion of 32 hours of community service, according to Emily Garod, deputy county attorney for the Strafford County Attorney’s Office in New Hampshire.

Guard, a student at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, was one of nearly 50 fraternity members charged in connection with an alleged incident April 13 at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity’s chapter house.

The incident involved activities seen on video surveillance that depicted chugging alcohol, using tasers and fighting, Garod said.

Most of the students charged made a similar agreement to perform community service, Garod said. Three students took their case to court and were acquitted, she said.
