Sep 16, 2015

On Wednesday, Sept. 23 the YMCA Southcoast will kick-off the Nutrition on Weekends Program (NOW) from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mattapoisett Public Library.

The program aims to “Bag Hunger” at the Alfred J. Gomes School in New Bedford and alleviate hunger in our communities.

The evening will include a presentation from Joseph Marciszyn, executive director of the Mattapoisett YMCA on how the NOW program will impact students of the Gomes school.

There will be opportunities to sign up to become a volunteer to collect needed food items from area businesses and organizations, help organize and pack food bags, inventory and stock food shelves and more.
