The Sippican Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m at the Marion Music Hall. The meeting will feature Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Elkins, a professor of African history at Harvard University. Elkins was awarded the Pulitzer for general non-fiction for her book "Imperial Reckoning: The Untold Story of Britain’s Gulag in Kenya" about the realities of British colonial rule, specifically in Kenya. The lecture is free and open to the public.
