Historical society offers free movie screening

Nov 13, 2013

The public is invited to the Marion Music Hall for a screening of “We Shall Remain: Part I - After the Mayflower” on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by the Sippican Historical Society and the Elizabeth Taber Library. From the award-winning PBS series American Experience, the film is a provocative multi-media project that establishes Native history as an essential part of American history.

The film follows the complex relationship between the native tribe and the new settlers, as the diplomatic gamble transitions over 50 years from success to failure, ultimately resulting in King Philip’s war. Tabor faculty member David Pierce will guide a discussion and analysis of the film. The event is free to the public, and no registration is required. Call 509-748-1116 for more information.
