Hydrant use may cause discoloration of Mattapoisett water

Dec 20, 2021

MATTAPOISETT — Residents may experience discolored water in town after fire hydrants were opened in Mattapoisett on Monday morning, Dec. 20 to help the Fire Department combat a structural fire on Route 6 at the east end of Mattapoisett.

"Fire hydrants are being opened on the East side of Town to battle a structure fire. This need for a high volume of water may result in some dirty water in parts of town,” said Mattapoisett Water Superintendent Henri Renauld. “We wanted everyone to be aware of this situation and we will provide an update as the morning proceeds."
